MagnaView CSO awarded Henry Johns Award of British Cartographic Society

Jack van Wijk, Professor of Visualisation at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven and CSO of MagnaView has won the Henry Johns Award for the Best Cartographic Journal Article, Unfolding the Earth: Myriahedral Projections. For more information click here.


MagnaView's Martijn Wijffelaars nominee for TU/E Final Project Award 2009

Martijn Wijffelaars, alumnus of the Eindhoven University of Technology, is nominated for the TU/e Final Project Award 2009. The university nominated 9 out of the total of 1000 Master's theses for the award. Martijn Wijffelaars wrote a thesis about the use of color in MagnaView, and graduated Cum Laude.


MagnaView nominated for Dutch ICT prize

ICTRegie, the national organization which coordinates ICT innovation, research and development in the Netherlands, announced the Nominees for the ICTRegie Award at its annual national ICTDelta event. MagnaView is one of the four Nominees, and is happy to be in the company of three other strong competitors in the field: Genexis, M2M, and Prom.

IEEE-award MagnaView VP of Scientific Affairs.

During the IEEE Visualization 2008 conference in Sacramento, California, prof.dr.ir. Jack van Wijk, MagnaView's director of Scientific Affairs, has won the IEEE VGTC Visualization Technical Achievement Award.
The IEEE VGTC Visualization Technical Achievement Award was established in 2004 and it is given every year to recognize an individual for a seminal technical achievement in visualization. Van Wijk has received this award for his contribution to the field of flow visualization.

The Dutch Design Awards is the platform that shows the best designs of 2007. During the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven (20 – 28 October 2007) iDance was selected for the exhibition of the Dutch Design Awards.


MagnaView nominated for European ICT-prize.

MagnaView has been selected as "Nominee for the European ICT Prize". The European ICT Prize is the most prestigious Prize for innovative IST products. This year organizer Euro-CASE received the highest number of applications in the history of the European ICT Prize: 450 applications from 30 countries. The proposals were evaluated by independent experts from 16 European countries, nominated by Euro-CASE, who selected 70 Prize Nominees. Twenty Nominees for the European ICT Grand Prize will be selected among the 70 Prize Nominees. The European Commission will select up to 20 Winners and up to 3 Grand Prize Winners.

At the 2005 edition of IEEE's InfoVis, the main scientific event in the field of Visualization, MagnaView's director of Scientific Affairs, Professor Jack van Wijk, won the Best Research Paper Award.
At the 2006 edition, Professor van Wijk’s group again won the Best Research Paper Award: This time Danny Holten was presented with this prestigious award for his paper Hierarchical Edge Bundles; Visualization of Adjacency Relations in Hierarchical Data.
